Course Description

Have you ever wondered about things like freeboard, BFE, elevation certificates and hydrostatic vents?  If so, the two day Fundamentals of Floodplain Management class is for you!  This class was developed as an introductory course to floodplain management and you can learn about these terms as well as many other elements of floodplain management as you travel down the road to achieving your Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification.  While the class is NOT a test-taking course and NOT intended to help you pass the exam (you’ll need your own experience for that!) it IS geared towards presenting the information that makes a floodplain manager a CFM and details what they do in their day to day roles.  We hope to have multiple instructors share the various topics so you’ll hear from numerous individuals who are experienced experts in their specific realms of floodplain management. Sign up now and join us in the world of floodplain management!

This Class is NOT in any way a preparation class for the CFM Exam.
